A seminar titled The Heat Trap: Heat, Health & Migration in Rural India was delivered at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. At the same time, the discussions underscored an emerging concern that extreme climate risks remain insufficiently addressed within the broader narrative of green growth. Rising heat stress, intensifying flood risks in coastal cities such as Mumbai, increasing water scarcity, and accelerating glacial melt in the Himalayas all present systemic risks that could undermine infrastructure investments, supply chains, and long-term economic stability.
